The historic Petaluma Silk Mill, a Georgian Colonial Revival building, was originally constructed in 1892 as the home of the Carlson-Currier Silk Mills. The building was the first silk mill west of the Mississippi River. In 1940, Sunset Line and Twine Co. moved into the building. For six decades, they manufactured fishing line, silk parachutes during World War II, and parachute cords that went on Gemini and Apollo space Missions. Sunset Line and Twine Co. In December 2006, Sunset Line and Twine Co. closed their doors.

BPR will be converting this exciting historical building into a 75-room Hampton Inn. The building faade will remain the same as well as the original footprint of the building.


What We Look For...

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to coordinate and monitor the hotel's maintenance program to ensure the safety and comfort of all staff and guests.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest quality of service at all times.
  • Prepare work schedules in accordance with forecasted occupancy, promptly respond and correct out-of-service items.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of maintenance staff and provide the necessary guidance and skills to complete required work.
  • Organize the completion of preventative maintenance of all hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds.
  • Responsibility for proper working operation of all back of the house kitchen equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pool & spa.
  • Thorough knowledge of emergency procedures; first responder to emergency situations, understand level of authority in safety and awareness within the hotel.
  • Maintain a secure building as it pertains to lock and key control.
  • Responsible for all fire safety training and periodic fire drills.


 The Model Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant Maintenance/Engineering experience.
  • Experience with modern building controls and maintenance.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Knowledge in swimming pool and spa maintenance.
  • Hotel Experience preferred .
