Managed by BPR Properties, Cabana Crowne Plaza is 195-room hotel located in Palo Alto surrounded by the vibrant energy of Silicon Valley. The Crowne Plaza Palo Alto prides itself in bringing employees into the welcome ambiance of a completely renovated and upscale tech savvy hotel. The Cabana also features 4290 Bistro & Bar- a delicious restaurant offering contemporary American cuisines.

 

What We Look For...

We are looking for a General Manager for Crowne Plaza Cabana in Palo Alto, California who is culture-centric, engaged and a strategic big picture thinker leader. Your mission is to provide hotel guests and team members with a WOW experience and to deliver on our brand promise. As a General Manager you will be responsible for managing the property operations and drive results in the areas of guest service, team member engagement, sales/marketing, property appearance and profit/financial control.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a brand and culture champion.
  • Demonstrate and promote a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and team members.
  • Set and achieve specific standards for self and for others; emphasis on schedule and quality.
  • Responsible for maximizing revenues and flow through to GOP to meet or exceed budget.
  • Responsible for preparation of property budget and forecasts.
  • Work with Corporate Sales and Sales staff to manage all sales activities of the property and meet revenue objectives, activities include setting goals, completing competitive surveys, taking reservations and compiling reports.
  • Promote 100% guest satisfaction throughout property. Instills the 100% guest satisfaction objective to all team members.
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit qualified applicants and train team members in accordance with company standards.
  • Motivate, lead and direct team members.
  • Inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of property with Executive Committee and Head of Maintenance to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance.  
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, responsibilities to supervise or assist in include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling staff; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

The Model Qualifications:        

  • 8+ years GM experience required; 10+ years related hospitality management experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have full service branded hotel experience; Crowne Plaza experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree; hospitality management preferred.
  • Successful candidate will thrive working at a faster than average pace, demonstrated ability to learn quickly thoroughly and in detail.
  • Strong sales/revenue management background.
  • Excellent leadership skills including strategic thinking, calculated decision making, lively and incisive communication, training and team development, ability to delegate with close follow up and control.
  • Complete understanding of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting. Past experience should demonstrate ability to control costs in order to generate expected profit margins.
  • Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills are critical.
